A practical coaching course for anyone who wants to develop real coaching skills. No prior coaching training required.
About this coaching course
Fundamentals of Coaching is a three-day coaching training course for anyone who wants to build the skills of an effective coach. You will learn the core techniques and theoretical models that underpin professional coaching and examine your own approach to working with people.
By the end of the programme you will have a clear, practical understanding of how to apply coaching in your work and relationships. Whether you are new to coaching or looking to formalise what you already do, you will leave with tools and confidence you will use immediately.
It is delivered by our expert coaching faculty.
What the programme covers
Over three days you will work through the fundamentals of coaching practice, applying each element to real situations from your own context.
-
Active listening and questioning
Master the listening and questioning skills that sit at the heart of effective coaching. Learn to give constructive feedback that changes behaviour rather than just describing it.
-
Recognising and developing potential
Identify the strengths in your team and build the conditions where people do their best work. Create an environment where potential is spotted and supported.
-
Building trust and rapport
Develop the relational skills that make coaching work. Learn how to build genuine trust and hold conversations that matter.
-
Guiding independent thinking
Move from giving answers to asking the right questions. Help your team find their own solutions and develop the confidence to act independently.
-
Goal-setting and performance
Set clear goals, use coaching techniques to raise performance, and keep your team focused and on track.
